At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, “Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill you.” He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal – Luke 13:31-32
The Lord Jesus Christ was not cute, cuddly and sweet as many depict Him in the movies. He lived in a harsh and hostile world ruled by a cruel and homicidal despot called Satan. As a result, He was a tough Man who confronted the satanic world of His Day with Resurrection Power. When Herod, the devil’s human agent, wanted Him dead, the Lord wasn’t intimidated as the Pharisees expected. He stood His Ground and addressed the realm of the Spirit with boldness and conviction. Ecclesiastes 8:4 says, ‘Where the word of a king is, there is power; And who may say to him, “What are you doing?” The Lord rule the world of His Time like a King through His Words.
Many Christians mistake meekness for weakness and humility for being a doormat. As a Christian, yes, walk in innocence but don’t be naïve. Be obedient but don’t be foolish. Satan doesn’t just want to make your life hard to live, he actually wants to kill you. You better believe it. He wants you dead. He wants to kill you with everything in him. If it were up to him, you should have died in your mother’s womb. So what do you do? Look at the Lord Jesus Christ, our Example. Herod wanted Him dead. As a king, Herod Antipas would have issued a decree, like his father, Herod the Great, did when he wanted to kill the Lord as a baby.
Decrees are words. The realm of the Spirit is ruled by words. Witches use spells, hexes and curses to decree evil; those are words. To break them, you must also make Decrees. When Herod threatened the Lord’s Life, the Lord made a Decree. Notice how He called Herod a fox. He was not nice about it either. That’s the Lord I serve! I refuse to be timid and weak. I’m a King forever! The Lord then went on to make a Declaration of what will be. He spoke in line with His Destiny. He contradicted the human principality of Galilee. When you see your life go south, just know that Satan used a human agent to decree something negative about you. So don’t just sit there and take it! You’re a King, and where the Word of the King is, there is power. Say something back. Decree something, King! Address the realm of the Spirit and speak in line with your Destiny. I refuse to be intimidated by demons. Glory to God!
DECREE
No weapon formed against me shall prosper. I refute every tongue that rises up against me in judgment. I decree and declare that I will fulfil every bit of the volume of the Book that’s been written about me. I’m here to fulfil my Destiny and no demon, no devil, no principality, no power, including Satan their boss, can stop me. That’ how it is and that’s how it shall remain for as long as I shall live.
