And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him – Genesis 5:24
It’s the beginning of 2023, like Enoch, walk with God this year. If you walked with God in 2022, choose to walk with God even closer this year. But what does it mean to walk with God? Hebrews 11:5b-6a says, ‘…for before he (Enoch) was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please God…’ To walk with God means to please Him. But to please God, you must walk by Faith. That means, to walk by Faith is to walk with God.
Matthew 3:17 says, ‘And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.’ Without Faith it is impossible to please God, however, the Father was well pleased in the Lord Jesus Christ. That means the Lord Jesus Christ walked by Faith, that means He walked with God. The Lord Jesus Christ is therefore our Example of how to walk by Faith and therefore be pleasing to the Father. John 8:29 says, ‘And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.’ The Lord Jesus Christ always did those things that pleased the Father.
As Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, let’s purpose to be more like the Lord Jesus Christ this year and do only those things that please the Father. John 15:10 says, ‘If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.’ The Father was well pleased with the Lord Jesus Christ and called Him My beloved Son because He kept His Commandments. That means Enoch pleased God because He obeyed God’s Commandments. When we keep the Commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Father will love us as He loves the Son because we please Him. And when God is pleased with you, there’s nothing He won’t do for you. Nothing shall be impossible for you in 2023. You’ll walk in Victory over the forces of this world because Faith is the Victory that conquers the world.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, may 2023 be a glorious year for me because I walk with You. May I walk by Faith like the Lord Jesus Christ and only do those things that are pleasing in Your Sight. May I walk in Victory as I dominate the forces of this world throughout this year. Amen.
