Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household – Matthew 10:34-36
When you come to Christ, you receive a brand new Life. The life you received from your earthly father and mother is supplanted by Eternal Life. You become a New Creation, which makes you a different species to what you were before. If your parents and family members are not born again, then you’re members of two different families now. That’s why many of you are persecuted and hated by your family members.
Galatians 4:29 says, ‘At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now.’ Those who are born of the flesh will always persecute those who are born of the Spirit. As a born again Child of God, you have Eternal Life in your Spirit. You’re a Member of the Family of God and separated from your biological relations. That doesn’t mean you must hate them. If anything, treat them with Love and Kindness. However, the fact remains, you’re no longer related to them spiritually. There’s a Sword between you and them.
That’s why the Lord says, ‘A man’s foes shall be they of his own household.’ The people you used to hate because you were not born again will now be of your own Household, the Household of God. You’re now related because of Eternal Life. Matthew 12:48-50 says, ‘He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” Your true Family are those who do the Will of the Father like you. We love our unsaved loved one very much, however, the fact remain, we have the Life of Christ in us and they have the life of Adam in them. That’s why you can triumph over any attack they launch at you, including witchcraft. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. Eternal Life is greater than the spirit of death. Light is greater than darkness. The Blessing is greater than any curse. You have Eternal Life in you, you can’t be defeated by natural men. That’s why you can shout, ‘In all these things, I’m more than a conqueror!’ Glory to God!
CONFESSION
I have the Life of Christ is me. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. Glory to God!
