You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden – Matthew 5:14
The Lord Jesus Christ walked in humility, there was no pride in Him. However, He never called Himself ‘nothing’ or ‘useless’ or ‘insignificant’ or anything demeaning. He called Himself the Light of the world; the Resurrection and the Life; the Bread of Life; the Way, the Truth and the Life; the True Vine, the Door and the Good Shepherd. The Lord never put Himself down. No wonder He walked this earth like a King.
The Lord Jesus Christ called Himself only what the Father called Him. The Pharisees called Him a liar, a wine bibber, a deceiver but He never agreed with them. But more than that, the Lord Jesus Christ calls us, His Disciples, ‘The Light of the world’. He calls us what He calls Himself. That’s because the Father has made us to be like the Lord in every way. Glory to God!
Words matter. You can never rise above your Confession. We become what we say about ourselves. The Lord’s Confession of His Identity made Him Ruler over the confessions of demons. Satan wants to give you a negative label and break you with it. He wants you to call yourself what he calls you. But when you call yourself what God calls you, you’ll rise above his deceptions. Dare to call yourself what God calls you. But don’t just say it in your heart. Say it out loud like the Lord did. That’s not pride, it’s Truth. I know who I am. I am who God says I am and I will not believe or confess anything less. Glory to God!
CONFESSION
I know who I am. I am who God says I am. I draw my Identity from my Father God. He’s made me to be like the Lord Jesus Christ. As He is, so am I in this world.
