Go beyond for Christ.

“And now, in obedience to the Holy Spirit I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit has warned me that prison and troubles wait for me. But I reckon my own life to be worth nothing to me; I only want to complete my mission and finish the work that the Lord Jesus gave me to do, which is to declare the Good News about the grace of God.”

Acts 20:22‭-‬24 GNTD

Do you ever ask yourself what the Apostles and disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ from the early church would say if they had to mingle with the Christians of today? The church has taken such a different turn and shape from what the men and women of the Bible left behind. Today there’s so much compromise, lack of commitment and sheer disregard for the Lord Jesus Christ’s teachings and leadership. Can we really say that we are following in the Lord’s footsteps like Peter, Paul, James, Timothy and the others did when we find it difficult to commit to simple things like going to church when it rains outside. What about preaching the gospel when it’s uncomfortable or standing out in our families to renounce the cultural and traditional norms that have been carried out for generations? What is your conviction of faith as a Christian? How far are you willing to go for the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ? What trials are you determined to go through for the Lord? Do you love Him enough to say if I die then I die, I am not turning back to the old life? What if you were threatened with imprisonment or death, would you still be a Christian? Paul went into death zones by choice because of his deep conviction that the gospel must be preached to the ends of the world. He was willing to die for Christ, even when the Holy Spirit warned him of the dangers that he would run into. The man could not stop himself. He was compelled by the spirit and His love for Christ to go. He was not afraid of death for what he believed. Friend, are you willing to go? If yes, how far, high and low are you willing to go? If death was in your face, would you still say “Jesus Christ is Lord”? Are you willing to forsake your comforts to run the race the Lord has placed before you? Let us all ask the Lord to Help us by His Spirit to be true and committed followers of Christ, who are willing to die for our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for the Lord Jesus Christ our good Shepherd. Help me to be a true disciple of Him, willing to lose this world and its comforts to attain an inheritance in the age to come. May my conviction to take the gospel of the kingdom to the ends of the world be unquenchable. Like Paul and the early church of the Lord Jesus Christ, may my generation be worthy of the call of Christ. May we be compelled to go far and near for Christ even when faced with persecution and death. Help us Holy Spirit. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Have a glory filled day.
