If there’s one thing that we all want and desire in life is peace. Infact it is more than a want or desire; it is a need. Everyone is coded to want peace, that’s why nations go to war for peace. However, that’s not the way to have peace. True peace only comes from the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the peace that surpasses all understanding.
This kind of peace cannot be brought or explained because it overpowers all logic and negative forces that often are meant to disturbilise one’s life. It is the kind of peace you cannot have too much of. It cannot be bought with money or material goods. It knows no boundary but love. True peace saves lives and the absence of it is death. It extinguished fires, and drives out fear and anxiety. It transcends jealousy, envy, hatred, fits of rage, expels malice and revenge.
This kind of peace is rooted in love because it comes from the One Who loves the most. God is love. Jesus Christ is the Prince of peace. He paid the price for you to have this peace that He gives. Isaiah 53: 5 tell us that “…the chastisement for our peace was upon Him…” So why do you allow yourself to be without peace that Jesus Christ suffered and died for, for you to have. This peace is free to those who trust in the Lord Jesus. It is part of our inheritance; grace has brought it to us.
All you have to do is receive it by faith and guard your heart diligently to protect the peace therein. Don’t allow anything to temper with your God-given, freely given peace. You can learn by worshipping God in all circumstances, and you will see how your life will suddenly be an oasis of peace. Others will be coming to you to drink, and you’ll be giving out living waters from your wells. That’s what the peace of God in a believer does, it saves lives.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, the world gives anguish, pain, hatred, malice anxiety and fear. But You give peace that transcends human understanding. Your peace is love because it comes out love. May Your peace be rooted and established in me so that in all circumstances I may be at rest within my heart. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ amen.
