If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God – Colossians 3:1-3
The Apostle Paul is telling you how to live Eternal Life. He says your life is hidden with Christ in God. Eternal Life is in Jesus Christ our Lord, in fact, He Himself is our Eternal Life. He says you’ve been raised up together with Christ and are seated in Heavenly Places at the Right Hand of the Father. You’ve been elevated to the Highest Place with the Lord Jesus Christ. You’re far above all principality, all power, all authority, every name that can be named, in this world and the World to Come. You’ve been rescued out of the grave and have therefore left it behind.
Eternal Life is the Throne Life. It’s Heavenly Life. Eternal Life is above human life. Therefore seek those things that are above where you’re seated with the Lord Jesus Christ. Set your mind on things that are above, not on earthly things. Not dating, porn, masturbation, clubbing, drinking, swearing and smoking. For you died to this world. You’ve been crucified to this world, and this world has been crucified to you. Eternal Life is a Higher Life. That’s why you have to decide to live above the circumstances of this world. Don’t be like your peers. Don’t try to fit in, you’ll never fit in. Copy the Example of the Lord Jesus Christ. He never for one moment tried to be like the people of this world. He stepped into this world and changed it, He didn’t conform to it.
God has given you His Life, the Life of Christ. Start living it. Stop pecking with the chickens down there, start flying like an eagle and go up where you belong. Don’t seek the life of sin, that’s the low life, and you’re not a low life. Don’t seek how you can gratify the lusts of the flesh. It will bring sickness, poverty, demonisation, defeat, failure and death to you. Rather seek those things which are above. Live in Obedience to the Commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ. Live a Life of the Word, Fasting, Prayer, and the Great Commission. Live like our Teacher, the Lord Jesus Christ. That way you’ll become the head and not the tail. You’ll be above always and never beneath. God and His Angels will back you, but Satan and his demons will back away from you. Glory to God.
CONFESSION
I’ve been raised up together with Christ and I am seated in Heavenly Places at the Right Hand of the Father. I therefore live the Higher Life, Eternal Life. That’s why I only seek those things which are above. My mind is set on Heavenly Things and not earthly things. Glory to God!
