Now therefore, restore the man’s wife; for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you shall live. But if you do not restore her, know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours – Genesis 20:7
Abimelech, king Gerar, had taken Abraham’s wife, Sarah, to be part of his harem. God responded with a Curse and closed the womb of every woman in Gerar. The reason God cursed Abimelech was that Abraham was a Prophet. You touch a Prophet’s wife, you touch the Prophet himself, and there’ll be consequences. This is the Principle I want to build on today.
Acts 9:4 says, ‘He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” Saul had received permission to persecute Christians. On his way to Damascus, the Lord Jesus Christ appeared to him. However, the Lord didn’t ask Saul, ‘Why do you persecute the Church?’ He asked, ‘Why do you persecute Me?’ The Church is the Wife of the Lord Jesus Christ. You touch the Church, you touch the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and there will be consequences. Remember yesterday’s post? We discussed the Prophetic Office of the Lord Jesus Christ. You touch THE Prophet’s Wife, you touch THE Prophet Himself, and there will be consequences.
That’s why you must never sell yourself short. You’re part of the Family of God. You’re related to the Holy Trinity. You’re married to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. When God sees you, He sees Family. You’re not ordinary. Those who mess with you are poking their finger in the Apple of God’s Eye. You should therefore walk this world with strength and courage. If God be for you, who can be against you? 1 John 5:4 says, ‘Because everyone who has been born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith.’ Are you born of God? Then you conquer the kingdom of darkness because you’re backed by Heaven. You’re THE Prophet’s Wife, whoever messes with you, messes with THE Prophet, and there will be Hell to pay.
