And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days. Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father – Genesis 49:1-2
Before Jacob died, he called his sons together and started to bless them. But notice what he says to them. He says, ‘Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days or the days to come. The ancients knew that the Blessing of God is transmitted by the Word of Faith. They understood the prophetic nature of Faith-filled Words. Hebrews 11:21 says, ‘By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph and worshiped, leaning upon the top of his staff.’ Jacob went even further and blessed Joseph’s sons. But he did it through the Word of Faith.
As a parent, you must learn to bless your children. What you say about them will come to pass. Like Jacob, what you say over your children will determine their Destiny. Understand that there are witches, warlocks, wizards and sorcerers out there pronouncing curses over your children. These are wicked people who don’t want to see others succeed. That’s why you have to speak Words of Blessing, Success and Dominion over your children.
That’s why you have to watch what you say to and about your children in general. Watch what you say when you’re angry. Watch what you say when you’re joking. The devil is a legalist. He’ll take your negative words and use them to hold your children in bondage and destroy them. As a Minister of the Gospel, I’m aware of this. That’s why I usually end all our Services with Words of Blessing over the Congregation. I know there are people in our midst with ignorant parents who love to curse and never bless. I therefore make it a point to bless my Spiritual Children. So go ahead and make bold declarations about your children. Declare they’re blessed and not cursed. Decree that they’re the head and not the tail. That no weapon fashioned against them shall prosper. Bless them and watch them become what you speak over them. Glory to God!
