Glory to God! I trust you’re well and enjoying your Inheritance in Christ Jesus.
We’re still in our Passover Season which ends next week on the 16th of April.
Today I want to share with you more insights about Passover which I believe will be a Blessing to you and your family.
1 Corinthians 11:23-25 says, ‘For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is THE NEW TESTAMENT in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.’
Most Believers are familiar with this portion of the Bible because of the celebration of Communion, but it was actually written in the context of Passover since the Lord Jesus Christ was celebrating Passover with His Disciples.
Having said that, there’s nothing wrong with having Communion outside the Passover Season, it’s important that you do actually. However, it takes on a different meaning during the Season of Passover because of God’s adherence to His Own Calendar.
The Passover is a celebration of the New Testament made in the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. A Testament is very different from a covenant.
A covenant is an agreement between 2 or more living parties with rights, duties and obligations. It’s like a contract between business partners who might agree on how to run the business, who does what and how to share the profits.
A Testament or a Last Will and Testament is very different from a covenant. A Last Will and Testament is a document drawn up by an individual called a Testator. The Testator works all their life to accumulate money, houses, land, equipment and other assets.
Before they die, the Testator will then draw up a Last Will and Testament and stipulate to whom all those assets will be left. The people to whom the Testator leaves those assets are called Heirs, and the assets listed in the Last Will and Testament are called the Inheritance.
With a Last Will and Testament, the Heirs don’t do any work. The Testator is the one who works, all the Heirs have to do is to receive their Inheritance.
This my Brothers and Sisters is a picture of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 9:15-17 says, ‘And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.’
The Lord Jesus Christ died on the Cross as our Testator to leave us an Eternal Inheritance. The Death of the Testator is what triggers the Inheritance, and since He did die, the Inheritance belongs to us. He did all the Work on the Cross for us, and now our role is to just receive our Inheritance by Faith. That’s the Gospel.
Hebrews 1:2 says, ‘Hath in these last day spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed HEIR OF ALL THINGS.’ The Lord Jesus Christ died on the Cross as our Testator but He rose from the dead as HEIR OF ALL THINGS.
All that belongs to the Father now belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ. And since the Father owns ALL THINGS, the Lord Jesus Christ has inherited ALL THINGS.
Galatians 4:7 says, ‘Wherefore thou art no more a slave but a son; and if a son, then AN HEIR OF GOD THROUGH CHRIST.’ By believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, we have become the Sons of God, just like the Lord Jesus Christ.
And like the Lord Jesus Christ, we’re GOD’S HEIRS.
Romans 8:17 says, ‘And if children, THEN HEIRS; HEIRS OF GOD, AND JOINT-HEIRS WITH CHRIST…’ Not only are we HEIRS OF GOD, BUT WE’RE ALSO JOINT-HEIRS WITH THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
That means, whatever belongs to Him belongs to us, equally. We’re not co-heirs with Him but JOINT-HEIRS. Co-heirs can own the same inheritance 50/50, 60/40 or even 90/10. BUT JOINT-HEIRS OWN THE SAME INHERITANCE 100%/100%. They own the same Inheritance jointly and equally.
And since the Lord Jesus Christ is HEIR OF ALL THINGS, THAT MEANS YOU AND I ARE ALSO HEIRS OF ALL THINGS BECAUSE WE’RE JOINT-HEIRS WITH CHRIST. Glory to God!
Romans 8:32 says, ‘He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, HOW SHALL HE NOT WITH HIM ALSO FREELY GIVE US ALL THINGS.’ God has freely given us ALL THINGS through the Last Will and Testament of the Lord Jesus Christ. We have inherited ALL THINGS because He died on the Cross as our Testator. What Mercy! What Grace! What Love! Glory to God!
1 Corinthians 3:21-22 says, ‘Therefore let no man glory in men. FOR ALL THINGS ARE YOURS: Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; ALL ARE YOURS.’
God has willed ALL THINGS to you and I through the Last Will and Testament of the Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Timothy 6:17 says, ‘Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, WHO GIVETH US RICHLY ALL THINGS TO ENJOY.’
God has bequeathed you and I ALL THINGS for our enjoyment. This is outrageous, and such is the nature of God’s Mercy, Love, Compassion and Grace towards you and I.
We deserved Death because of our Sin, but because of the Passover Lamb, God passed us over and sacrificed His Own Son. And now we’re Beneficiaries of the Last Will and Testament of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We don’t have to produce anything through our own effort. Everything is by Grace because the Testator did all the Work on the Cross and declared, ‘IT IS FINISHED!’
You can’t work for an Inheritance, it’s all free. Everything is a Gift from God.
We couldn’t save ourselves, therefore God saved us by His Grace. Salvation is a Gift to us. It’s included in the Will. In fact Salvation is itself an all-inclusive word which comprises all that we’ll ever need.
Ephesians 2:8 says, ‘For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD.’ Salvation is a Gift. It’s our Inheritance, and it includes everything we’ll ever need in this life.
Hebrews 1:14 says, ‘Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be HEIRS OF SALVATION?’ We’re Heirs of Salvation through the Last Will and Testament of the Lord Jesus Christ. We don’t have to work for our Salvation, it’s a Gift to us.
And what included in our Salvation package? What other Gifts are included in this Gift?
Acts 2:38 says, ‘Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST.’
Romans 7:23 says, ‘For the wages of sin is death; but THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.’
Romans 5:17 says, ‘For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace AND THE GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.’
Of course there are many other Gifts since ALL THINGS ARE OURS, such as Divine Wealth, Divine Healing, Divine Health, Deliverance, Peace, Joy, Power, Authority, Protection and so much more.
We thank God for the Death of our Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross. He died on the Cross to make us Heirs of God and Joint-Heirs with Himself who possess a Divine Inheritance of ALL THINGS.
Tomorrow we’ll delve deeper into this subject and discover how to respond to this Inheritance.
I trust this Teaching has been a Blessing to you.
Glory to God!
